Jerome Hunter

Jerome Hunter is an educator, speaker, and advocate for inclusive masculinity whose work focuses on how schools and communities can better support boys during the formative middle school years. He is the founder and former Chief Academic Officer of the Seattle School for Boys, where he developed the “3Cs” framework: Confidence, Communication, and Community, to help young people lead with inquiry and self-awareness.

Nationally recognized for his equity-focused work in youth development, Jerome’s approach is rooted in emotional intelligence and evolving ideas of manhood. His work has been featured by TED, TED-Ed, NPR, and Greater Good Science Center. Shaped by lived experiences that informed his understanding of care and the emotional development of boys and men, Jerome surfaces asset-based narratives about boys. He advocates for relational, community-centered approaches that help boys and men become more whole.
